Urnex: avoid bitter tasting coffee!

Dirty coffee containers and brew baskets can slough solidified coffee oil into your brew - this is not a good way to showcase the flavor of your coffee. Fortunately, we have a very simple solution: urn cleaner. You can do SO much more with Urnex than that package instructions indicate - if there’s a coffee stain, it’ll clean it! It is important to realize that the cleanliness of your equipment can have a big impact on the quality of the drinks you serve.
Urn cleaner is inexpensive - just $ .25 per package, and one package can clean two airpots.  So, at $ .12.5 per cleaning, it’s affordable and it’s also easy to use. We clean our coffee urns every Sunday night. Simply pour half a package into each airpot or urn, set it into the brewer, and start a brew cycle with an empty brew basket in place.  After brewing the hot water into the container, top off the water level if necessary, reinstall the dispense tube, and let it sit overnight. A quick drain and thorough rinse the next morning and you are ready to go! Super clean, super quick, and super cheap. (Nightly cleaning would not be overkill, but we have found that a good rinsing every night coupled with a weekly cleaning on Sunday works very well and keeps our coffee tasting great.)
