July Coffee Special: Tanzania Kanyovu Peaberry

imageThe mountainous Kigoma region of western Tanzania is home to this coffee and the Kanyovo Co-op farmers who grow it. Kanyovo represents over 5,000 farmers from ten primary societies, three of which – Rumako, Kalinzi, and Mkigo – contributed their very best Peaberry’s to this vivacious lot. Overcoming a remote location and limited natural resources, the co-op made the best of heirloom Bourbon varietals, good soil and elevation exceeding 5,000 feet. Lively lemon acidity supports a full, creamy body in this stunning coffee that came to us all the way from the Great Lakes region of Africa.

Try Tanzania Kanyovu Peaberry this July and enjoy 50 cents off each pound (whole bean, ground, or frac’ed coffee) in your order, and an 11” x 17” poster complete with a full description of this coffee. (Limit one per customer, please.)

Change in Puro Caff Offering

Hello, Alterra Wholesale Customers -

In keeping with Alterra’s focus on minimizing our environmental footprint, we’re excited to announce that we will now be carrying the Puro Caff ‘Full Circle’ line of Espresso Machine Cleaners!  Full Circle is the first environmentally responsible and effective portfolio of coffee equipment cleaning products. Our barista trainers and a handful of cafes have put Full Circle to the test with daily use and have found that the washes work wonderfully...without the use of harsh chemicals!  We’ll eventually be replacing all of our Puro Caff standard products with the Full Circle line, beginning with the Coffee Equipment Wash, available now for $14.85.

Why do we like Full Circle?
• All ingredients are found in food or derived from plants.
• Labels printed digitally to reduce emissions.
• 100% recyclable packaging

Full Circle Coffee Equipment Wash is now available through Alterra!
Like all Full Circle products, Full Circle Coffee Equipment Wash is completely phosphate free, all ingredients are renewable, sustainable and naturally occurring, and every jar is made from recycled packaging with a digitally printed label. Each 500 gram jar of product is perfect for back flushing traditional espresso machines, soaking coffee and espresso machine parts, and cleaning coffee brewers. Concentrated Full Circle formula eliminates coffee residue in group heads and valves with a balance of foam and solubility for optimal rinsing.

‘Full Circle’ Dairy Cleaner will also be available through Alterra within the next few weeks.
A superior dairy cleaner specifically formulated to break down milk protein build up. Perfect for cleaning auto frothing devices, steam wands, and milk vessels.

For more information, visit the product website here: http://www.fullcirclebrand.com/

Please feel free to contact our Sales Support Offices at 414-273-3747 for more info or if you have any questions.

Thanks!

May Coffee Special: Peru Chirinos - Organic/Fair Trade

imageThe Chirinos cooperative of Northern Peru, which was founded in 1968 with just 36 farmer-members, has grown to roughly 280 members from several communities in the Cajamarca region. This year, the coffees we selected from Chirinos came from 3 groups in the cooperative - Balcones, La Lima and Cordillera - that are at the highest elevations and produce the highest quality coffees. Harvested from mostly Typica variety trees (with small amounts of Caturra, Pache, Catimor and Bourbon) at elevations upward of 1,600 meters, this certified organic coffee is a delicious example of successful efforts in cooperative farming. This is a layered yet drinkable coffee with delicate floral and berry aromas and sweet, balanced acidity.  Enjoy!
