imageAlterra is proud to be the 12-mile sponsor of UPAF’s Miller Lite Ride for the Arts. Totaling more than 250,000 participants since 1981, the ride is regarded as among the nation’s largest one-day recreational bike rides. Help celebrate the 30th year of this annual summer favorite, which has generated more than $6.7 million for the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF).

When: Sunday, June 6th, 2010

Why: To help keep our performing arts scene dynamic and a vital part of our community’s culture. UPAF is among the nation’s largest united arts funds in terms of dollars raised and number of donors. The organization provides financial support to 34 beneficiary groups.

What: The 30th annual ride to benefit UPAF. In 2010, the Ride is offering a five, 12-, 25-, 65- and 75-mile bike route. After the Ride, participants can enjoy the Finish Line Party at the Potawatomi Stage, Summerfest Grounds. The party includes entertainment, performances from UPAF groups, and children’s and sponsor-related activities.

imageWhere: The Ride starts and finishes at Summerfest Grounds at 200 North Harbor Drive at the Mid Gate Entrance at the intersection of Chicago Street and Harbor Drive in Milwaukee. The various routes travel past several Milwaukee landmarks and continue along the scenic shores of Lake Michigan through numerous Milwaukee-area communities and parks. New this year is the Alterra-sponsored 12 MILE ROUTE, traveling west along the Hank Aaron State Trail turning at Miller Park and a rest stop at the Harley-Davidson Museum! More info about the Hank Aaron State Trail here. Two Oasis Stations are located along this route.
