This April 23rd, Alterra Baking Company will offer 500 students and 70 staff at Richards School in Whitefish Bay the opportunity to recognize Earth Day in a unique way. The school’s Green and Healthy Schools and Fun Lunch Committees have teamed up with Alterra to provide a lunch that is good for the planet. Turkey wraps, watermelon slices and cookies will be served to the 2nd - 5th grade students using washable, reusable delivery trays. Following special composting demonstrations, fruit and vegetable waste from the day’s lunch will be composted as a means of educating students on being green. Happy Earth Day, everyone!
