Brewing Tips with Alterra Head Roaster, George Bregar

Check out Wisconsin Foodie, a local culinary program highlighting some of the amazing culinary resources available in our own backyard! Alterra’s green coffee buyer/head roaster George Bregar was recently featured on the show explaining and demonstrating 3 methods for brewing great coffee at home. Watch the video below to learn about the different flavor profiles that can be obtained using the same coffee but employing different styles of brewing - Chemex pourover, French press, and siphon.

From the Wisconsin Foodie website:
“The goal of Wisconsin Foodie is to educate, entertain and connect Wisconsinites to their food. Each show dives into Wisconsin’s culinary world - profiling local food treasures and unique travel destinations. Wisconsin Foodie artfully blends all three show facets (food, cooking and travel) to create a national-style program, yet completely local and all about Wisconsin.”

Wisconsin Foodie airs on CBS 58 on Sundays at 10:30am!

Alterra Coffee in Chiapas, Mexico

Follow Alterra representatives to Chiapas, Mexico, as they visit members of the Kulaktik Cooperative.  Alterra has been purchasing organic/Fair Trade Certified coffee from this group since 1998 and still "gives back" $.25 to the farmers for each pound of coffee sold (on top of paying Fair Trade prices), which is invested in quality control efforts as well as in the cooperative's infrastructure.
